That is not true, Kevin. You are not being fair. Reread the article. The author uses the pilot’s death along with the facts concerning the pilot’s training and the attitudes of her superiors to argue quite another point. Reread the article. You clearly have failed to understand it.

But, this happens all the time with male aviators; should we ban men from being pilots because some of them make mistakes?

But you just don’t have officers lowering standards and lying about the capabilities of the guys. Reread the article. The author was really getting at something a bit more significant than you’ve managed to see.

No, I believe the author would like to see all women removed from the military, based on that example.

You’ve really missed the point quite fully. We simply cannot tell how the author thinks about women being in the military in principle. We can tell how she thinks our society ought to respond when it comes to sexual dimorphism and combat. She clearly thinks we are responding inappropriately – and she is exactly right.
