" As far as Nature is concerned, a family cannot exist unless the hetero scheme exists."

Wrong. Same sex couples exist and thrive right here under your nose. Today's medical advances make it possible, as does adoption (which, by definition, promotes family by allowing children to participate in one instead of being orphans).

"Religion has nothing at all to do with it"

Then how come everyone who argues against same sex marriage has a religious political agenda?

"Homosexuals have no natural rights that flow to them as a result of their homosexuality. They do not have these rights because homosexuality is truly not an object of the human family. It is foreign to it. "

Again, that is your religious attitude talking. I know of same sex families that are indistinguishable from more traditional families except that they have two mothers or two fathers. To the children, it is no more different than families that have one parent, or parents of different races. The 'unnaturalness' is yours and others perception of what a 'traditional' marriage is. Today, the 'nature' argument just doesn't hold any water.

"Society may grant homosexuals the right to adopt. But it acts contrary to human nature when it does. Nature only recognizes one family structure: and that structure has nothing at all to do with homosexuality."

What you mean is that *many religions today" only recognize one family structure. But that is changing.

Ok, we seem to be the only two talking, so maybe it is time to turn out the lights and let them close up. :)
