James Although a lot of what has happened to me in the name of Church and Authority has been difficult to take at the time. In hind sight it is in some ways rather humorous. The bigger question is WHY did God ordain for those things to happen to me? Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. I believe that God is interested not so much in what I may or may not suffer but in how much I trust that it is in His good plan for me to suffer them and learn to accept that people are just people and terribly blind even though they may be saved. The bigger picture is how am I relating to them and their persecution? Am I really doing any better??? Is the beam removed from my eye??? Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; It is pretty hard to boast in Head Knowledge when one's own character is far from Christ's commands. Yes - I admit I have been given much: 1 Corinthians 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? Unfortunately, my responses to these people has been less than ideal. Luke 12:48 ...
