I would single out Canada and USA as being special and above the norm of History and its analogous societies. I don't agree that this vision is anything but wishful. Read Spengler. We are neither a very free society nor a very just one. We enslave, control, overtax, divest, and run a corruption, poverty making society where 95% of the wealth is in the hands of 5% of the people. We are just better at propaganda. Any European state is as free as ours, and has less poverty. We are not special, except that we are a police state -- the most efficient one ever set up. The least free. The court's the most corrupt and least fair of any in the world. Ever try to sue anyone? It is rigged so that without loads of cash you will never succeed. Longest time to get into court on the planet, longest time to settle. Spengler said true to the norm of history, that the West is in decline. He wrote a book with that title. He was not Hitler's historian as he contradicted Hitler that Germany could succeed with its planned society. He predicted barbaric and more vigorous races would plunder an effete west as tney have all previous mega societies, the Egyptian, the Khans, the Turks, The Romans, the Greeks, etc.. We have it all but it is incumbent upon each of us to obtain what we want through our own invention, our uniqueness is that our form of government allows us to do exactly that while others (govts.) do not. This starts out with what I would agree with, but their is no protection in practice for intellectual property, as our society rewards thievery, not invention. Lawyers were developed by the Plantagenet Kings to get around the economic and freedom provisions of the Magna Carta. They are the King's thieves, who have brainwashed the people into believeing somehow that the principles of kangaroo courts are immutable principles of justice and logical conclusion. All Latin verbiage to control the masses for political purposes, the chiefesy being to channel money to the power group. Practically speaking the average citizen cannot invent. The poor man's patent was disallowed by parliament a few year's back. They are trying to drive regristration of invention into the courts and government setups solely, which takes it out of the realm of affordability of the common man. I see our government being responsible for sustaining and preserving these values for us and posterity......and that may be our greatest dilemma. They should be responsible but aren't. Invention has died in this country and it will never revive because the forces of monopolistic business and corruption want a slave society. They don't want ownership of land, invention or business means. Distributorship is controlled, and access to credit is channelled to the few. Savings and banks are monopolized and channeled as is business credit. It is a family compact in this country that operates behind a screen. it will always boil down to "Us or them", "Our tribe or theirs" I think that is why they invented countries. There are no massively heterogenous societies so far in the world. Most are driven primarily by racial and cultural similarities. It is the natural way. The most successful countries are the most homogeneous. If they are not, then they emphasize proagandistically that they are without differentiation, a melting pot or re-homogenization so to speak.. not really true, as most like that are ghettoized and beset by racial troubles, except where they cantonize. the sooner it is recognized and dealt with the better off we will be........ How are we going to deal with India, China, Indonesia and their billions of people when they eventually figure out that it is better to be here than there, if they haven't already...... Eventually? Where have you been? Canada has been telling them as a matter of liberal policy for the past 40 years! We have spent billions on advertising the country to the millions of slaves that people think we need here. It as if they are trying to build an ant farm, or slave colony. Ridiculous. Who needs to overcrowd paradise? We don't need to become China. I like the wilderness and the uncrowded vistas. I don't want to see a hamlet ever 15 kliks in the NWT. Some people confuse that with progress. EC<:-}
