What a bunch of nonsense. Life is seldom as complicated as you'd like to make. Simply put, Iraq was an enemy state with a nutcase dictator with a penchant for acquiring WMD. The Iraqi regime represented a threat to the US, the region and the world. It no longer does. But until Iraq is stabilizied, the threat could reconstitute itself. Hopefully, we have learned the lessons of Afghanistan, Somalia and Lebanon. It IS that simple.
