The military budget was cut, AND misdirected to non-military purposes. Clinton filled his cabinet with misfits and mediocrities who all believed that the greatest threat to peace was AMERICAN power.

The left wing media refused to call it treason. The emerging fair and balanced network let's YOU decide.

That cabinet reflected the nature of both Clintons-surround themselves with misfits and mediocrities (with the exception of propaganda specialists, whose loyalty they know they can count on). Makes the "couple from Hell" look a little LESS like the misfits and mediocrities that THEY are.

Clinton created 23 million jobs, best economy ever. On the military matters, the Clinton military just successfully invaded two countries. Those troops were traind and equipped during the Clinton years but the Bush years.
It also turns out Clinton's bombings of Iraq in 1998 may have taken care of the WMD problem. Otherwise, he had no compelling reason to wage war except against the Serbs with NATO. At that time, Republicans were the "doves" arguing that the war was unnecessary. See this:

" A number of Republican political strategists have been arguing in recent weeks (usually in private) that the best political strategy is to keep Republican fingerprints off this (kosovo) war, call it the "Clinton-Gore war," wait for it to fail, and then blame the administration for the whole debacle. This posture is irresponsible and damaging to the national interest.

It's also politically shortsighted. Clinton will be blamed if the war is lost no matter what position Republicans take. But Republicans need to stand for something more than predicting, hoping for, and exulting in Clinton's failures. They must make the case for American strength and leadership. After all, it's going to be hard to outflank the Democrats on the side of timidity and weakness, although some McGovern Republicans are trying mightily.:
