Where did the information of the Qaeda-Iraq link come from?

It came from captives in the war on terror. If this information has not been corroborated and substantiated, but it serves the need to whip up fear, then it's lying.

Notice that they do not elaborate on the statements.

What is it when Cheney says that Saddam tried to purchase yellow cake uranium from Nigeria? That it was destined for their nuclear weapons development. This information was known to be false by every intelligence agency in the world. It was old news, that was clearly shown to be untrue, yet a year later Cheney includes this tidbit in a speech designed to sell the war. What is it? Lying, pure and simple.
