Glenn,

I trust your typing skills. :)

The battle between the creeps of the DLC and the real Democrats led by Dean may be the big story in Democratic politics this election cycle. Too many people realize that the DLC sold out the American people with NAFTA and the heartless and pointless destruction of the social safety net by those in the Democratic party who are more beholden to the corporations than to the electorate.

You have to admit it is a pretty funny venue, having From and Reed write their screed in the Wall Street Journal. Now there's a bastion of liberal Democratic Party politics. <gg>

Re: (Dean's) early support for a U.S. commitment to Liberia may be a sign that he is going to work on moving voter's perceptions of him further to the middle. BTW, I am curious as to your thoughts on this issue.

The CNN Late Edition poll today showed 45% of respondents in favor of intervention, 55% opposed. So Dean is lining up with the slight minority of Internet junkies on this issue.

I don't have enough data on the matter to hold an opinion. I have no idea what these respondents are basing their opinions on, but I suspect the worst. <g>

Liberia is a country with meager resources and only 3 MM people. In the scale of things, it just isn't terribly important.

I'd like to see the innocents protected, of course, but I have no clue as to who the good guys are in the current street fights. So I'm not taking a position on the matter.
