sounds as though your grey cells had a somewhat stimulating day. 60 minutes (which Andy says is now down to 42 [minutes]). that's not bad. we have a program airing on the CBC that's called "this hour has 22 minutes". you are way ahead of us <g> when you think about it, no wonder english is such a difficult language to learn - it's full of contradictions. rose

WerdBaller, I caught that part of 60 Minutes also and must say I enjoyed your additional tidbits on the subject. Perhaps they will help me next time I try to do a crossword puzzle. My father-in-law does the NYT puzzle on a daily basis and often remarks of the frustration he gets from some of his clues. I had wifey give him a call with a heads-up about the show. Monday's puzzle is supposed to be the easiest. Perhaps today's would be a good one for me to try. -Clapper P.S. Was "Whirled Peas" on that list?
