Mq...It would seem to me that the reasons you gave would be good reasons for ALL civilized countries in the world to get involved....! Why is it that in time of trouble, the world always calls on the US to bail them out....and otherwise, many of those same countries in the world continually harp on the "US Empire" Your thoughts: 1)American tourists are then less likely to be attacked. 2)Places for criminals to hide are reduced. 3)Sources of mayhem are reduced. 4)Neighbouring countries are less likely to suffer problems. 5)The overall cost of civilized life goes down. 6)There is a good case for USA citizens to usurp thugocracies. Mine: 1)You've probably noticed, but tourism from Americans is down everywhere, except in our own country. Yes, many of us are traveling to other countries...but NOT in the large numbers as we did before 9-11. Most Americans are not stupid. Why go someplace that isn't considered safe, even by that countries own citizens, let alone tourists. 2, 3, 4, 5) All democracies in the world should want fewer places for criminals to hide. Therefore, all such democracies should be involved in seeking out the thugs... 6) There is a good case for ALL World Democracies, not just USA citizens, to usurp thugocracies
