So even terrorist leaders experience the feeling of fear. Faced with their own demise, suddenly the promise of 72 virgins was not so appealing to the leadership.

Not that the leaders themselves ever believed in any of that 70 Virgins nonsense :-)

Remember that bin Laden tape, where he was discussing the 9/11 attack.... where he good naturedly remarked that many of the hijacker's "assistants" on the flights weren't even aware it was a suicide mission ?
