I have problems with the Gay issue, John. My libertarian side says, "what you do in the bedroom is your own business," and I think the country now agrees with that. My conservative side says, "presenting the Gay lifestyle as one to be urged upon our youth is wrong." I guess I could sum it up as saying, "do as you please, but don't present it as a good way of life, it isn't."

I think I have the majority of the people in this country with me on this viewpoint.

I don't like anything that works to downgrade Marriage. Having a Mother and Father present to raise kids is extremely important to the kids and the country. Every Social Study done supports this viewpoint.

I have a lesbian sister. She went back and forth and finally left her Husband, kept the kids, and moved in with another woman when she was 40. She is now a bitter 62 year old with a bad life behind and ahead of her. If I had gay kids, I would accept them, but I would feel sorry for them.

In spite of Sullivan's column, the history of Homosexuals in charge of institutions is not a good one. Yes, I believe that pederasty is a form of homosexuality. Hetrosexual males go after young girls. And Homosexual males go after young boys.

I'm interested in Sullivan's take on the gay marriage issue, the general right wing antipathy to it, and Sullivan's identification with the right. So I find myself checking out his weblog.

Quick, someone get me my smelling salts! Did JohnM say that he is reading Andrew Sullivan of his own volition? I can't believe it! -g-

Will you agree with this one, John?

Logic 101 (7/9)
Does the public have a right to know what goes on in state university classrooms? Not according to some of the professors who run them. The United University Professors Union backs a proposed New York law that would exempt classroom teaching materials, books, films, etc., from the state's Freedom of Information law. In an Orwellian twist, the bill's statement of purpose claims the move will protect the "open forum" of the classroom. Forcing professors to show their teaching materials to outsiders, the argument goes, "creates an unnecessary concern which may limit an instructor's ability to pass on knowledge and ideas to students."
