Haqi, I think that I am in agreement with what you say about stopping people from taking over the world.

Saddam was not taking over the world. Yes he had an iron fist over his own country, and he was able to flex that muscle largely because the west was willing to look the other way to make a profit. Even by selling this madman weapons of Mass destruction which he could then use on his neighbors.

At the time of this war Saddam was weakened and was not in an expansion mode. He was not taking over the world. In fact his army was decimated by the US twice. This last time took three weeks. Of course there is a guerilla war to fight now as we are intent on controlling Iraq for at least a decade. There are many Iraqis that do not want the US there. Yes they want Saddam gone too. But now they turn their attention to ridding the US.

This war was poorly thought out. The post war conduct was given even less thought. That's not to say the the military performed badly. They executed the orders well.

We have really no moral standing in this war. We have no credibility in this war.
