Not sure if this has been posted here yet but this little 2 hour discussion touches on some of what you addressed regarding real estate. Several of these guys expect r/e to do a repeat of the 30's or as they put it: r/e will finally exhale after an almost uninterrupted 70 year inhalation period. they also discuss equities, gold and the USD - I found it well worth my time for the technical and fundamental insights offered: just scroll down to the investor roundtable - a technical perspective with Richard Russell, etc...

The golds held pretty well today. no matter how you cut it they are looking for a spark to get out of the barn. and the penny ones are already stealthily making new highs. only question is how far the ^hui goes after it lets loose of its range and whether its a buy and hold for 2 years as crustyoldminer and saville seem to think! or whether its a short term pop.
