Neat......

I've been going to sea......and living on boats since before I could crawl.

I spent every summer while in High School cooking on a 100' schooner hulled multi-tasked boat earning summer money.

We mostly fished Albacore tuna off of the west coast. We'd go out 200-400 miles, and be there until we filled the hold......usually 3-4 weeks at a time.

I also went from Seattle to Hawaii on the same boat. It took us 11 days from San Francisco. Got into a horrific storm off the coast of Oregon that did major damage to the boat and forced us to seek shelter in Sausalito. It took over a month to do the repairs.

I've sailed the entire west coast from LA to Yakitat Alaska on various boats.

My dad was a licensed Sea Captain, jack of all trades, world adventurer. Ironically he earned his unlimited when he was 65 yrs old, but unfortunately developed cancer and died two years later.

I miss going to sea with him most of all.

;) M
