My father was one of the leaders of the Methodist church globally. And so were most of his friends. Plus he was ecumenical and worked closely with Catholics, orthodox, you name it. Then I was sent to a church school for a few years. I'm actually something of an expert on the Christian religion and what real Christianity means (peace, love, charity, etc.) And frankly, these days much of the religious right doesn't seem to be Christian to me at all. Especially pushing wars and tax breaks for the rich. That is directly against Christ's teachings.
