Cyberken, war against Islam is stupid. It's much cheaper and less deadly to learn to live with them and make peace (however uneasy) that demonize them and attack them all like Coulter attacks Democrats. Condemning them all with a broad brush guarantees global payalsis and makes terrorism against the US a permanent condition. That is very-very costly. I know you think terrorist attacks help the GOP stay in power, but it's not what we want for this world. We need to get back to peace and prosperity ASAP. That said, tough counter-terrorism is definitely the right thing to do. But since the Taliban we have not seen any government actually sponsoring terrorism. Some just turn a blind eye once in awhile,like the Saudis, (Bush's buddies), Syria and Iran. But look at what happened when we invaded Iraq (not even the right country for terrorists). Pacifying the place is a major nightmare. And we have no spare troops now to do anything else. Barry McCaffray said the other day, the US military is completely booked solid now.
