I wonder if, in other cultures, there is the phenomenon of the outraged male loner who goes ballistic and shoots people, like the guy at the Lockheed Martin plant today? Or blows up people, like Tim McVeigh and the Unabomber?

I am not saying that the Mohammed Attas of the world are preferable, but that appears to have completely different motivation, or does it?

"Dirty blues"

My favorite is "Handy Man." But we all listened to them in clubs or records. What gave us a laugh in private settings is now all over TV. Try a couple of the "South Park" shows on the comedy channel. You won't believe your ears. Bob Herbert's last "New York Times" column had this line.

"It is now absolutely normal in many circles for young black men and women (and, for that matter, little black boys and girls) to refer to one another as niggaz and bitches and ho's."

We have come a long way on Vulgarity, CB.
