Hi CB, I am just guessing mind [surprise!], but I suspect that Rap, like public porn, parenticide, etc... is merely an "effect" of a more invidious "cause" which simply goes completely whacko when the big brained "organism" is constrained 24 x 7 in his/her innate desire to rule the roost. Such effects being permitted by the THEMs of society because it is quite impossible to maintain a semblance of order in the herd without allowing such deviations into the "non-traditional" leadership roles. I try not to underestimate the importance of allowing the "surplus" alpha males and females a "sanctioned" outlet for their drive to dominate. It's a very delicate balance. Fraught with dangers.
