celebrating the upsurge in Dean's fundraising and support

No one should underestimate Rove's ability to spin and obfuscate. He may be floating these stories in an early attempt to paint Dean as an extremist and thereby preclude his nomination. I watched a Charlie Rose show back a week or so ago. Charlie had some very sharp political analysts as guests. They thoroughly “sliced and diced” the Democratic Candidates. These professionals concluded that Dean was a “deceptive centrist”, who was deliberately stressing a left-leaning profile as part of an early campaign strategy. His longer term views were such, that the pros felt he would have little difficulty moving to the center when he chose. Perhaps Rove is acutely aware of this?

As for the right-wing ideologues ability to make mince meat of Dean, I believe you're underestimating Dean's counterpunching ability. Could be wrong, but I sense a pugnaciousness that would preclude a "Dukakisization". More of a "Give hell Harry" approach.

Just another opinion.
