Bush is making no inroads with anyone these days. His numbers just fell 14% in one month. He's on public "trial" for lying about a war and wait until the 9-11 investigation is finished. He could be on trial again then for ignoring numerous warnings of Al Qaida hijackings. Blacks and Hispanics want one thing more than anything else. Jobs. We are still losing jobs and it's up to 3 million gone and growing. Also, Bushies were responsible for denying blacks and Hispanics voting rights in Florida in 2000. Only a few contrarian blacks and hispanics will be voting Bush in 2004. About 8% of blacks and about 20% of Hispanics, only because of the right-wing Cubans.

If this event was indeed part of a grand strategy, Bush seems well on his way to redirecting the ethnic tone of the Republican Party in a way that may not automatically make black people feel friendly toward it but that could, over time, bring issues of importance to Afro-Americans to the front and put party affiliations in the back. Yep, Bush needs to make amends after brother Jeb removed 60,000 black voters from the rolls in Florida just before the Presidential election in 2000. So lets get a little funky in the White House to make up for that boo boo. Next thing you know they'll be serving red beans and chitlins in the White House! Orca
