Chris, I'm one of those people who have raised their right hands and sworn to protect the Constitution. I took that very seriously.

If your question is why the SC rather than some other part of government is supposed to protect our rights, my answer is, of course, it isn't, only that it's the court of last resort, when other, more political parts of the government fail, and, as a result, may do things that are politically unpopular.

If your questions is where is it that we get those rights, well, surely that isn't your question...
