Plus they take another 8% off the top with the cost of complying with Federal regulations - which gives big business a big advantage over small b.

I see McCain is getting face time complaining about Big (conservative)Media. Cource his solution to that is more regulations. Fool. He should be working to SET THIS COUNTRY FREE. Slash regulations, eliminate corporate taxes and taxes on capital. Rationalize the tax code. Small business would explode and big business would evaporate.

The debate now is how to pay off huge deficits both at the state and federal level. Seems elementary math you can't pay them off unless you either slash very popular programs, including the military, or you raise taxes. And just cutting federal taxes doesn't work because state taxes go up as a result, the states getting less revenue from the federal government. It's a very nasty situation now and we can't cut taxes and spend-spedn-spend our way out of it. A balanced approaches is best, so we dont have to shut down schools, hospitals and fire cops, firemen, etc. Grey Davis is offering such a compromose (2/3rs spending cuts 1/3 tax hikes) but the GOP isn't buying it. Mainly because they want to kill Davis off while they see a chance. On the federal level, the budget crisis is being pushed to 2005 or beyond. No fiscal responsibility at all on the part of Bushies.
