The idea that uranium could not have been smuggled out without attracting attention strikes me as ludicrous

Interesting viewpoint. Of course this triggers another hobby horse of mine.. nuclear safety.

Anyhow, I guess this could be the anticipated "set up" where Tony Blairs and George Bushes opponents all get swept away upon revelation that, as suspected, Saddam was up to his eyeballs in WMD on appropriate discovery on real evidence.

I don't mind who gets whacked in the UK, Tony Blair or the BBC. They both lie and twist the facts to the public and both need taking down a few notches in my opinion.

Of course, some peace in the Middle East would be a most welcome accident to should that also happen. I'd vote appropriately if these good thing happen. I'm sure most would.

edit.. see my reply to Nadine..

"It did not take long to uncover the forged documentation. We did a Google search and discovered that someone named as a minister in the Niger government has stopped being so years ago. A lot of it was pretty crude - a cut and paste job."

well, in trusting the IAEA, at least they know how to check if something has been forged off the internet. They qualify as being more competent then the British Government, though that's not saying much... -LOL-

I have noticed a lot being said about Wilson and the Nigeria report. Right off the bat I don't believe President Bush knew there was a problem with the report when he cited it.

OTOH, I noticed he has said there was more nuclear material in Iraq than had been thought.

Now let me lay this out. The US had an operative in Iraq telling the US about the Iraqi nuclear program. Nuke material was important to mention as the third leg of the WMD program but mentioning it without another source would put our operative in jeopardy. Along comes the report, problem solved.

That was indeed my question earlier, Neo. (re Mr. Joseph Wilson...) If he (or anyone else for that matter) goes to one town in one Country in the whole of Africa...and doesn't find any evidence of uranium being sold to Iraq....

in the entire 8 (eight) days he was in that one little town, in that one Country in the whole of Africa...

Does it mean that it didn't happen? And there was really nothing there?

If someone hides something....i.e. let's say for example, a land mine....and someone searches the sands for it for an hour or two...
but doesn't find it....

Is it not there....or is it not there until someone drives over it in the future.
