If I were an Iraqi, I would glean that he was lying about the democratic process bit. Don't you think the Iraqi's might be a wee bit more worried about the ability of Saddam's thugs to return and torture and kill them back into place, as they have been doing for the last thirty years? Sheesh, do you think the Iraqis want your "pure" democratic process, which would allow the Ba'athist thugs who have money and guns and been living like kings while everybody else starved, to hijack the process? Go ask the Iraqis if they think it's necessary to screen out the Ba'athists - I wager you'll get asked what kind of an idiot you are, to even ask such a question. I notice you never answered my question about whether screening out Nazis after WWII or Ba'athists now was necessary. Declaring it out of scope was a neat dodge, but the answer is rather relevant to the situation, don't you think?
