You watch and see if the Bush tax cuts work. My prediction is they won't, the deficits will be way too heavy, the dollar will be way too weak and jobs will not be created. Bush himself promised 600,000 new jobs. That's nothing, it's pathetic. Spend 350 billion for 600,000 new jobs? Do the math. Isn't that almost $600,000 per job? What we need are 6,000,000 new jobs, not 600,000.

There is no need to lower the top rate in the sense that we can get by without doing so, but lower taxes make for a freer more prosperous country.

That is patently not true. There are many countries in this world with less taxes and the only people in those countries that are free and prosperous are in the top ten percent in income. The US has one of the lowest tax rates for a developed country and still the rich in this country aren't happy.

Actually, that is not entirely true. There are some who are not complaining.
