The polls on most every subject show that the majorities do not want the policies that Bush presents. It is only the touchy-feely poll about "Do you support or approve of Bush" that gets him any sort of strength. Misreading is almost guarenteed since it is not clear what the alternative is. This is why that poll question is not a valid indicator of whether Bush is centrist or not. The test I proposed of whether any other President was more extreme is much more relevant. TP
