Democrat Dick Gephardt, seeing his advantage in Iowa shrinking, is making a concerted effort to sharpen the differences with his presidential rivals on the party's core issues of health care, trade and labor. Somebody should tell him and the other demos that the current issue is national security and we are all pi$$ed by their inaction and that they cut the Armed Forces by 35-40% during their 8 years. Finally the demos want to provide National Security by attacking something. So they are attacking GWB. They have selected the wrong target and it will cost them. Bush is addressing health care. Trade cannot improve much until the Japanese and German economies recover. Labor is...well, it is labor... and still a bit loudmouthed, if you know what I mean. The unemployment rate is still quite acceptable by any historical standard. uw
