Thanks for bringing up the system restore issues you ran across. I recently added another hard drive to my system, and there is no reason to have system restore running on it. System restore was on by default, so I turned it off for this data only drive.

I'm thoroughly confused now. If the drive which stores images is used only for backup and is never booted why would you need system restore on that drive at all? System Restore shouldn't see any files on that drive that need to be backed up and you could permanently disable restore on it.
