What "deflation"? 8:31AM U.S. June wholesale prices rise 0.5 pct by Corbett Daly WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- Wholesale prices rose 0.5 percent in June, the Labor Department said. The core rate, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, fell 0.1 percent. Overall wholesale prices rose 2.9 percent in the past 12 months. Finished energy goods rose 3.4 percent in the month, led by a 7.6 percent rise in gasoline prices. Prices of goods in the intermediate stage of production rose 0.5 percent in the month.
