I had no IDEA about that root thing- but it was fun to learn about it. I am sure there are many many funnies out there, on the international communications front- and most people who could bring these things to our attention probably don't. It's too bad. I'd like to know what they are. This would be a nice forum to address interesting idioms in various countries.
