<< Is the expensive adventure over in Iraq making us any safer and is it justified and legitimate..? Do you think the Senate will have THE COURAGE TO HOLD IMPEACHMECHMENT HEARINGS...? >>>

Safer: Yes a lot safer. The action accomplished is to make it much more difficult for terrorists to get their hands on WMD's in two ways- Iraq will not be producing any and those who are considering producing and selling some will realize we will go in to great lenghts to hunt down the producers and stop them
Justifed and legitimate are two difficult words being debated today.Laws and standards vary from country to country. Was it legitimate for Saddams people to drop babies off high buildings?
If taken before the highest recognized world court, Saddam could be given many hundred consequetive life sentences , or several death sentences ( which shows how strange some laws work). I wonder if he could get the sentence reduced for good behavior ( hahaha).
So in targeting Saddam, we are merely carrying out a sentence that would be inposed by the world court if he could be captured. A legitimate pre-emptive action.
Or does an enemy while shooting at us have a right to a trial before we shoot back. We are still at war and his troops are still shooting back.
Working out the meaning of those two words, in this case, will take reams of lawyers many years, with no guarantee of understandable conclusions.
This thread could go on forever while the laws of various nations are debated.
Meanwhile the terrorists are busy plotting how to release spores in our subways or contaminate our cities with dirty bombs.
And the interpretation of world law is that we are permitted to defend our country from such attacks. We will not have any way to predict or defend from all such planned attacks and will have to stop them by pre-emptive operations.
Recent actions by the US in Afghanistan and Iraq are going to do a great deal for world safety, demanding a world focus and consideration of how countries will interact in the future.
Decide which international laws will be effective or agreed to and which penalties would be considered applicable and just if they are violated.
Tongue removal in Iraq was probably legitimate and legal, I am not sure how that is done and what the result was . Sounds messy. But hey, if some Iraqis want Saddam back, they should take a national vote on it. Bet he does not get 100% of the vote.
