Even Fox showed wide shots and mentioned that only a couple hundred people were involved in the toppling of the statute, so I find it difficult to imagine what NPR was talking about.......

Whinage is an awesome word Win. I really like it. Did you make it up yourself? Since I plan to use it in the future, should I credit you?

Maybe you were out of the country. Both FOX and CNN had WIDE shots of the square....no Marines ....and really only about 200 or so people pulling the statue down, and riding down the street on the head of the statue....

The US networks, biased as they are, showed only the close in shots, where you couldn't tell how many people were actually involved; the rest of the world saw a big, mostly empty square with maybe a couple hundred people in it.
