In 1972 Nixon himself called Kerry a serious leader and someone to be reckoned with. Nixon was scared of him because he was so effective and credible. It's on the Watergate tapes. Do a search and you'll find it.

They saw him as maybe the next JFK. Then they called him "babykiller". Can you believe the GOP president would call a Silver Star winner that? Well Nixon did. Believe me, the Republicans dont want to make 1972 an issue. Because at that very time GW Bush was AWOL and deserting, refusing a drug test and partying his butt off. And Vietnam also reminds the public too much of Iraq now.

Kerry admitted smoking pot, but was no doper degenerate. He was a very serious individual. Always has been. Including on the battlefield in Vietnam where he earned more decorations than Ollie North or Tommy Franks.
