It's probably half-true but the source is a known liar they cant trust. I've read several times the Iraqi exiles are notoriously full of it, exaggerating the evils of Saddam to curry favor and get a piece of the post-war pie.

On the other hand, Saddam is/was a very bad guy. But the Al Qaida connection is very iffy. My guess is there was a minor Al Qaida connection but the two were not working together. After all, Al Qaida wants a fundamentalist Islamic state and Saddam is/was secular and often cracked down on the Islamics. Remember, he fought a war with Iran against the funamentalists there. So they would be very uncomfortable bedfellows. Saddam however did aid the Palestinian terrorists. And 10 years ago was running some operations against the US. None of which worked.

I seriously doubt Bushies would be withholding any evidence just to trick "those damn liberals". Remember they had to make the strongest possible case to get the US public behind this war in the first place. Not to mention trying to persuade the UN.
