A PNAC Primer

A good introduction to the PNAC.

the implications of what would happen if the American voting public found out about these policies.

Maybe. In the ten or so months, I've known of the PNAC, I've watch the press coverage of the New Century cabal become increasingly mainstream. I haven't noticed any "groundswell" of revulsion. It’s not as if this was all some big mystery. As the article says “they've left a long, public record that lays out quite openly what they're up to”. The article’s “PNAC Paper Trail” clearly exhibits how easy it is to follow the evolution of this now powerful group.

Yet, when Cheney, who has served as the “mother hen” of this group since at least Bush I, was first picked as VP and put in charge of staffing any Bush admin, I personally saw nothing about the “bazaar” ideas of Cheney’s neo-con pals and likely appointees. Even as late as a year ago, with talk of an Iraq war beginning to “heat up”, the PNAC was only discussed in various “underground” pubs. Now, Mr. Weiner thinks that all that’s necessary is to inform that “middle 20%” of the American electorate about the ideas of Cheney’s cronies, and “all will be well” in the “land of the free”. Good luck.

As part of a larger criminal cover-up investigation, which revels the thinking that led to the cover-up, the PNAC’s stated objectives and their ultimate implications could be devastatingly bad. As a “stand alone”, knowledge of the PNAC is likely to sway few voters.
