Honestly, I am concerned with the anyone but Bush idea. This is a good way to lose and election. I know it is too early to pick from the field, but to defeat Bush, we have to be convinced of the merits of one particular person.

I haven't had a chance to focus on Wesley Clark yet, but if he has the background, it strikes me as though this could be an interesting person. I like the fact that he is not leaving a senate or congressional or gubernatorial seat to run for office. I also like the fact that he had risen to the upper echelon of the military. He should have a greater understanding of the events to which the current leadership have committed our soldiers, our country, our honor, our prestige, and our tax dollars.

I'm going to take a closer look at Clark, and find out more about him as I will all of those who are seeking the top job. If we are to end this neocon reign, we need to have plans and purpose. A viable alternative needs to be presented in a meaningful way to overcome the hundreds of millions of dollars that the Bush camp will be spending to promote its empty slogans and fact twisting propaganda.

I think the most important thing will be, though, that there is a strong personality at the top. A specific person that everyone can work at electing. We can't run a campaign that focuses of pointing out perceived lies and screwups of Bush. That will only serve to have both parties completely focused on Bush. The election needs to be about what America can and should be, and how our candidate can effect this.

If polls mean anything, we all know that most Americans do NOT favor what this administration is doing. Voters need to see a contender who is going to look out for the interests and the well-being of the people.

I do understand these feelings about anyone but Bush. I just believe if that becomes our unfortunate rally cry to change power in our country, then we are doomed. The neocons worked towards a specific goal with dedication and zeal to seize power in America. It will take no less unity and foresight to return power to the those of us our elected officials are supposed to be representing.

The neocons also proved that it doesn't take a majority to change leadership. It take the dedication of a core group that gets to the polls no matter what. They shout down reason and truth to demoralize others into feeling both angry and powerless at the political process, and ultimately failing to participate.

Truth must take hold, and it's up to us to bring encouragement and support to those who have been pushed aside by the bully tactics of these usurpers. To defeat them, there must be a plan, and a person which brings hope and the promise of representation to all those now being cast aside in the cruel wave arrogant power surging through the political system. There has to be substance. There has to be more than just anyone but Bush.
