Many democrats want the recall so Davis will step down and Bustamante will take his place, cancelling the recall but giving Dems a much more popular governor, and the first Mexican-American with a job that big. Virtually unbeatable with so many Hispanic voters to tap. But much of the recall argument is based on lies and exaggerations. Take away the Enron energy thefts and Calif's defifits are the same as Texas's per capita, and much smaller than GW Bush's. So by the GOP logic, Bush should also be recalled.
