"By the way did the majority of the Iraqi Jews emigrate to Israel before or after Saddam came to power?

Before. They were being smuggled out in the 40's, and when the government permitted emigration around 1950, the thoroughly terrorized community stampeded out. Not many were left."

An Arab country allowed emigration of its Jewish population to Israel, a country with which that most Arab countries were at war.

Found this site about a Jewish family preventing Saddam's mother from getting an abortion in 1937(the year of Saddam's birth).

"My answer: if they ever mentioned how many there used to be, they would have to mention where most of them are now - Israel. That means they would have to broach a topic that is taboo at the BBC: refugee Jews. The BBC only mentions refugee Arabs."

A google using BBC Jewish refugees brought these sites among 19,000 hits

bbc.co.uk

news.bbc.co.uk

using BBC Jewish exiles brought this up out of 3400 hits

news.bbc.co.uk

But would you call it objective?

As to your boiler plate, I believe that the majority of Israelis don't think of themselves as exiles and as such should not be addressed as such.
