I was never much into the war cheerleading thing, my little sanctimonious one. There are much better ways to keep up on events than watching TV. I have a certain distaste for people treating war like a football game. The Saddam statue thing itself seemed to have all the "sponaneity" of a Super Bowl halftime show, they just had trouble rounding up a big crowd. Aside from the network cameramen, of course. I'm sure the war marketeers made sure they knew about it.
