As to the A/F I always found the food in their mess to be outstanding. Maybe I am less picky than you??

In most O-Clubs, the food is pretty good. Basic food, most of the time, but well prepared. I don't expect a Schaum Torte to appear in any O-Clubs. But this particular O-Club is by far the worst I've ever eaten at.

We can pick up frozen prawns or shrimp at the commissary and I've got no complaints. But I can get prawns from the local fishmonger that are better and cheaper. The O-Club will serve shrimp from time to time, but they are breaded and fried which just happens to be a style that I don't care for.

The major thing that pissed me off about the effort to get the local fishmonger on base wasn't that it failed for an unknown reason, it was MWR. They insisted that if there was to be sponsored, it would be the MWR that would do it. Ok....so far. The SOBs insisted that they would also take a percentage cut, TBD, for this service. So much for caring about the well being of the military on base, they wanted to make a profit out of it.
