It has a extremely good infrastructure. yes, human infrastructure, you need this for the rest of it to stay intact. It is enormously rich in resources, gold, diamonds, etc. exactly, this stuff about being a mineral rich country being a curse is an observable effect of malfunctioning individuals, but hardly a reason in and of itself for the misery most of them experience. On the other hand, the way the infrastructure was built there, was also an observable effect of malfunctioning individuals, so that takes care of that. I has not stolen property from the whites there. If the last point changes, and it is starting to, it will follow other countries into poverty. The leaders are Socialists Well compared to you everyone is a Socialist. Land redistribution issues are on the table, and I fear that yet again you may be right about the path to poverty, but there's not much happening in this regards yet. When the deluge comes, if it does, it will not be about race per se. South Africa has a rapidly growing and very ambitious black middle -class. Besides the major problems of AIDS and Crime, there is a lot of positive energy there and I am probably more hopeful for the country than you are. It will be interesting to see if the place can buck the trend, yet again, although it's a little hard to tell where that stops these days. Add the "race war" in, with the temptation to take from the white minority and give to the black majority, and it is unstoppable. Like you say it depends on what the remaining malfunctioning people decide to do...it's all about intentions.
