Yes, it would be so terrible if people were guaranteed free speech and press, the right to practice their religion, and the right to assemble. How awful if government were accountable to the people through free and fair elections. Oh my gosh, what if we finally had a peaceful planet, and people were fairly secure against attack from revisionist states or terrorist groups? And how about the horror of attracting foreign investment, breaking into new markets, and improving one's economy? Bad old United States.........
