Those were significant details that the recent news story doesn't address. I made a phone call to a friend back in the States and both of us agree something is stinky about this story. ...first, it doesn't address either of the earlier points...unmarked aircraft and jamming. Second, we can't come up with a comfy reason why only selected portions of the intercepts were declassified. We are talking about 35 years ago....Once you've declassified the incident and the intercept [sic, sources and methods] what's left to protect after 35 years? I don't have a good answer.

We also share the assessment that recognizing that there are ommissions, the transcript as released is really more vague than it appears to be. The words that were omitted can change the entire meaning of that transcript.
