When we kill. When we lie. When we steal. When we use WMD. When we treat other countries with contempt if they do not blindly obey our orders. Then, we are no better than the monsters we claim to be destroying. All we have destroyed is our own moral foundations. All we have destroyed is our own claim to hold values and principles worth dying for. All we have destroyed is our own claim to be a model for the rest of the world to follow. We are losing it all. We are no longer respected. We are merely feared. When the only reason for somebody in another country to follow us is the gun we put to their head and the gleam of a laser pointer calling in another airstrike, there will be no safe place for your children or mine, anywhere in the world. Soon, we will all live like people already do in Israel -- in constant fear and a constant state of war -- but it will be a war of our own making, and it will be fear of the hatred against America that we so forcefully cultivated.
