Cary- Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. By, "we" I meant people of the world.

I agree with your criticisms of Bush. However, I add my criticisms against the french for not allowing the legitimate forces of the UN to eliminate a criminal. I was furious at the UN for demonstrating that they were divorced from ethical considerations and were simply a conglomeration of countries with parochial self-interests. That, obviously, includes the US. In fact, I am even more furious at Clinton for vetoeing the UN resolution that would have sent a peace-keeping mission to Rwanda. 800,000 lives might have been saved. Indeed, the Canadian officer who described the situation to the UN was specifically ordered not to take action. Later, Clinton vetoed UN action.

Your position now sounds closer to mine--that force was obviously necessary to get Saddam. After the UN (french) failed to take action, now tell me how it could have been done?
