I have not studied the subject. In my experience when someone refers to a "Machiavellian" attitude it usually carries a negative tone. I usually try to look the term up to get a better feeling for what is being implied. One source suggests the term " Machiavellian" is typically used as a synonym for amoral cunning and for justification by power.

I found the selection CC posted to have some interesting statements and thought it would be good fodder for discussion here. He doesn't appear to be interested in serious discussion. So, I guess its best that he stays on the political threads where he can bash away in the game of politics.
