To tell you the truth, I rather enjoy the writings of Niall Ferguson. I think he's a very clear thinker. His views of the American Empire are probably mordantly hilarious if I were to catch him at Harry's or a pub adjacent to the City. You can ID these two, right? Anahoo, Ferguson hits the nail on the head. Little King Georgie's problem is that his ambition exceeds his treasury by a few trillion semolians. This is a gap he has no idea how to bridge. Though he is working on keeping his bribery flow alive. Cf.: Theft of Rumailia oil via surreptitious pipeline scam -- floridatoday.com !NEWSROOM/peoplestoryA1172A.htm So, Little Lord Fauntleroy, er, Queenie Georgia, is about to go into hock to the tune of bazillions of dollars on a mad scheme to steal the entire planet. Who can blame him? This is noblesse oblige updated to the 21st Century. Only a Bush could be so arrogant, so heartless and so clueless as to think he could pull this off. In the meantime, he's going to be the ruination of millions of innocent victims across the planet. Many of them unsuspecting. Like the Little Old Ladoes From Pasadena who vote religiously for George, the Shrub, but who don't realize that the ultra-safe bonds they invest in because they believes in Bush's Amerika will soon become nearly worthless because of the stuff-storm of inflation that is about to destroy the currency, in order to satisfy the Little Dicktator's whims about horrible military hardware and costly conquest. Bush's basic problem is that he doesn't do math in public. He is an idiot to invade Iraq and then force the American public to pay $100 Billion per year for his folly while his bribery buddies at Halliburton and Bechtel can only rake off $10 Billion or so into off-shore accounts. This is really bad form, not to mention bad math and proof of entropy. Americans generally are quite generous about honest graft. Like the stuff of Tammany Hall or the Daley Dynasty in Chicago. But Bush is pushing the envelope, and its far too redolent with baksheesh to pass the U.S. smell test. Outright theft like that being imposed by the Thief-In-Chief and Oil Slick Dick is just simply beyond the pale. We won't tolerate this much blatant corruption. Off with their heads! Celebrate Bastille Day!
