Many will go on to different pastures, and I will be among them

I'm sorry to hear that you've decided to not renew your SI membership.

It's all about content, after all.

IMO that is exactly what makes a paid well run site valuable....and a membership fee IMO attracts posters who want to have discussions that are reasonable, and "spam free" of posts for specific trading sites or specific stocks. I've read a few Yahoo boards that "discuss" specific stocks that I know very well, and IMO these "message boards" are a complete waste of time. The Yahoo message boards that I have read, seem to have quite a few teenage posters with a very limited vocabularies who enjoy posting 24/7.

The ability to enforce the TOS for a message board is IMO an important feature. This feature doesn't seem to be used on some of the other message boards.

I have appreciated your posts, as well as other posters on this board and the Big Dog Board. Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge and experience in the energy sector, and I hope that some of you decide to stay with SI!

It has been what 5 years KB?? Started back with the Strictly Drilling thread.

Too bad that "Rig Party" never materialized, it would have been great to meet everyone.

KB-
While it may be disappointing to have to pay for that which was previously free, I cannot fault SI for doing so.
I have long felt that Yahoo could (and should) charge a fee for use, however de minimus.

Frankly, there is no reason for SI to support our free use of its town square (even if there are hawkers of wares nearby).

I suggest that prior to the disappearance of many of us that we quickly select a new place to meet after the cutoff date (or even earlier to demonstrate the loss of 'eyes' to SI).

It should be quite easy to find a low use Yahoo board to congregate while we plan where next to surface (while running off the current users, ggggggg).
From there we can plan
