The core belief of the Jews is justice: an eye for an eye The core belief of Christ is love: love your enemies, turn the other cheek, love those that hate you. In the first three centuries after the Crucifixion, the Romans could identify Christians two ways: 1. they refused to sacrifice to the Roman Gods 2. they refused to serve in the army. They were pacifists.
